Well I married mine and there was zero intimidation involved. And the other men in my life (family and friends) that I’m also inspired by…yeah, no intimidation. 🤷🏻♀️
Respectfully, maybe I’m just misunderstanding or just can’t relate to the wording of your post and response, which is ok. Hey, we all have different desires, wants, or expectations in the type relationships we want.
It’s more about scaring all the lesser baddies away than being intimidating to you personally. It can also register as competence. I find vigilance and street smarts more attractive than pure physical strength, which is often a proxy for intimidating. I appreciate the early warning aspect because I tend to be oblivious and hyper focused on other things.
It's not necessarily physical, yes.
I'm nerdy enough to be in awe of some men's IT or math skillz, or to be cowed by someone with great philosophical or theological talent.
That's why I said that it's highly subjective.
That does make me feel personally intimidated, tho. More timid and smaller, somehow. And I get quieter and less brash, more inclined to look at the floor, more upset if they complain about something, much closer to water.
Those same men are always trying to get me to raise my head and encouraging me to speak up, tho, so... it's complicated. Intense. Passionate.
