### Murena Cloud (aka eCloud)

(Replaces Google/Microsoft/Apple Online Ecosystems)

[Murena Cloud](https://e.foundation/ecloud/) (previously called eCloud) is a complete, fully β€œdeGoogled”, online ecosystem.

It gives all the services offered by the tyrannical Big Tech companies, without the any of the privacy invasions or tyranny. Woohoo!

**List of Services**

***

- Free email

- Online file storage

- Contacts

- Calendar

- Notes

- Tasks

- Photos

- Online document collaboration

All done with open-source solutions, such as Nextcloud and Open Office.

eCloud integrates into the Linux desktops, Linux phones, and Android phones very easily. All you need to do in Linux devices is log into the "Online Accounts" app, and apps like Evolution, Geary, Kmail and Kontact see your eCloud email, contacts, calendar and tasks.

If you buy one of their /e/ Murena phones, or install /e/OS on your phone, that phone will automatically be set up to use eCloud services.

You can get an eCloud account πŸ‘‰ [here](https://e.foundation/ecloud/).

You can get /e/OS πŸ‘‰ [here](https://e.foundation/e-os/), and install it yourself on one of these [/e/OS compatible phones](https://doc.e.foundation/easy-installer).

You can get an /e/OS phone πŸ‘‰ [here](https://murena.com/products/smartphones/), such as the [Murena Fairphone 5](nostr:nevent1qqsgzgvtslwxg03624cgafplq894nzw6gytxuuv5u7fccss7yyyh7fcpz3mhxw309ucnydewxqhrqt338g6rsd3e9upzqndled79mkuzf8uu06uvy8spnuy0h7m7ch0d2sytv9zep04c6954qvzqqqqqqy8fp9m3).

It really isn't that difficult to manage your own nextcloud. I just stick it behind tailscale and then never have to expose it to the internet while still being able to connect when I'm away from my home network. I just have a server running on an old desktop PC running with docker compose. This makes the updates fairly easy but there are many install options.
