the enclosure is the big part for printing ABS and ASA or other high temp filaments, but if you only print PLA PETG or TPU you could go with a non enclosed printer and safe some bucks

I totally feel you, I upgraded from Ultimaker 2 to MK4S after like 7 - 8 years and I fell in love with 3D printing again, it's so much fun, I feel addicted again
Interesting, from an outside perspective the FDM 3D printing didn't really evolve much. Yes the speed went up and overal fiddliness went down. But the quality of the prints is about the same for a very long time.

its a trade off, if you want better quality
you need to use a 0.2mm nozzle and print much slower
