I hear ya. The spec is soiled now. I thought the file sharing usecase was cool but now that I see it was just a plan to use relays as file storage, maybe time to nuke it from orbit.

Isn't it better to have a defined kind for the people that want to put files in events instead of having them put everything in random kinds or kind 1? It's easier to block. I think the NIP 95 text even states that as a goal.

yes it seems like people are going to do it regardless of whether it’s a good idea or not. At least we have explicit kinds to block now.
