Gitanas Nausėda, President of Lithuania, declared today in Brussels that hesitation is over and that European nations will take action.

He announced that Lithuania plans to invest up to 6% of its GDP in defense and thanked the European Council for the ReArm Europe program, which will enable up to €800 billion in investments in weapons and military equipment across Europe.

Lithuania was under Russian occupation for nearly 50 years. In 1991, as it sought independence, Russian forces moved in to crush the movement, resulting in many civilian casualties.

The Lithuanians know firsthand what an expansionist Russia means—which is why they are so committed to Ukraine’s defense efforts. https://video.nostr.build/f4121aab0830a79954a70aff0ae381b226352efdfa6103c03f71365f3ec6461f.mp4
