Stop trying to get people to leave twitter.

The people still there at this point need to stay there.

Every time a new wave of users from Twitter joined the fediverse, the whole vibe and attitude changed. Almost every time it degraded because new users came in with the wrong attitude, even started complaining how things "weren't good enough".

Don't wish for anything but gradual organic inflow of users, or you'll be wishing for the "good ol' times" soon after. πŸ˜…

They killed Fedi for me. Day one of a mass exodus and they already wanted to impose to turn it into the very thing they ran away from.

i still have a honk instance running on an OpenBSD vps to interact with the Fedi, but i rarely check it these days.

I have heard it a lot .. the sudden influx, demands, complaining. Fedi was very different a few years ago. But I honestly find it more painful to see the message, like yours, where they say like .. "I miss the days when fedi was fun and fooling around."

I wasn't an early user, but I know the vibe and I know the feeling.

Preach!
