People who are meant to wake us up...

... are the ones who come into our lives for a longer period. Usually they are our partners, soulmates.

If we believe in reincarnation, these people are from our past lives, where we had various interactions with them. Perhaps they were our child, grandparent or a close relative. We encounter the same souls repeatedly to learn the lessons we need in this life.

Then the purpose of life is to awaken, discover its meaning, and grow through these lessons.
