Regardless of the technical merits of core vs knots, the most remarkable thing to me is how reluctant core is to the opinions of the users who are actually running the software they make. In a business world, if that many of your customers stood up and said you’re making a mistake, you’d probably listen very quickly.
That's kind of the point of Free Software though, to just do whatever the fuck you want.
