Since this is a large change in short time, and about revenue per employee, I'd lean towards the technology theory more than inflation but both probably contribute.

Maybe "VC incentives" is a confounding factor. Companies must grow the top line at all costs

Showing the centralization of big tech/industry as monetary policy transfers (steals) the productivity from individuals and gives it to government, and owners of tech platforms.
