🥇 The first one needs no introduction, while the second one is less well known.

👩🏻‍🔬 Dixy Lee Ray was an American politician and biologist from the Democratic Party. In 1975, the position of "Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Scientific and Environmental Affairs" was created, and Ray was the first person to hold the post. She left the position shortly thereafter to become the 17th Governor of Washington State.

📓 In his 1973 book, "The Nation's Energy Future: A Report to Richard M. Nixon, President of the United States", he describes how nuclear energy can lead to decarbonization, a very timely topic that we will discuss later.
