Depends on the situation.

If I am living in a forest, I much prefer the axe. I can cut wood and make fire and keep me warm. I could even hunt some animals too.

If I am living in a field, with a lot of grass, maybe the sword will be much useful...

If I am living in a crazy big city, definitely the gun.
