That's exactly where I'm leaning.

Feel dirty for thinking it, but I want to vote with my feet, time, and capital.

If I thought it'd be different next year I'd probably attend officially.

It won't be different. Each year it gets worse. For the most part, I enjoyed 5pm to 3am much more than anything inside the conference building's walls.

Every damn year.

Grateful for the encouragement.

Just come to Nashville. It’s always just about bitcoin week.

Sad commentary from Derek though. People forget people put on the biggest open source event of the year inside the event itself and we help make the side events happen but ya that one guy on stage means it’s all shit. Give me a break.

We want to feel heard.

We can call it months out when we see announcements for folks like Novogratz, O'Larpy, etc.

They're not nearly as divisive as the wizard boys are on any given day, putting ordinals on a shelf.

I really do want to support. Give the benefit of the doubt.

FWIW, I do respect how difficult it is to put on huge events.

Please respect when people try to offer criticism charitably.

We know you can't make everyone happy. We know you get lots of static no matter what you do.

How you and others react impacts how we see the event.

In return, many of us, myself included can try to BE more charitable. It goes both ways.

absolutely. i also understand that Bitcoin Magazine is a business and the Bitcoin Conference is larger than Bitcoin Maxis. it's supposed to encompass all of Bitcoin and all Bitcoiners, not just one group. i don't have to like or support those other groups thought! i will keep attending the Bitcoin Conference, because i do find value in the value i receive from my particular Bitcoin and Nostr groups. it's still worth it for me nostr:npub1cf3zeytdnwgwzz5pk2ax0vvmmlzad03xcft4d50ejrfhsh8pxcdsefx7gk 🤝

i've said numerous times over and over again that the real conference to me was the open source stage area. i've told people that's where they should go. i've told people that's where they'll find the signal. i've said that's where i'll be.

If it makes you feel any better… that’s my plan.

It does.

I'd love to support them, but they seem to refuse to support me.

It’s tough. On one hand you have real plebs working for the magazine that genuinely love and care about Bitcoin… on the other hand you have a fiat minded company profiting off of fiat minded ppl who are ignorantly bandwagoning.

I don’t like Miami so I wasn’t interested in supporting that cities economy. I love Tennessee so I’m more excited to support Nashville’s economy. They also have #[5] so their are pleb friendly establishments and their Bitcoin meetup is 🔥 making it so you don’t have to support the magazine but can still support plebs and be apart of the signal. Hopefully that helps🫂💫🌻

Agree on the Miami too.

The mayor "I love Bitcoin, buy my shitcoin" was a huge turnoff. Wanted to see it moved north to the next county up, at the very least after that.
