So being a node runner, is there a way my family can use my node to host there own bitcoin wallets on my node in a way that only they can access it? Eg. I can't rug them..

That's a great question, mate! I'm glad to hear that you're interested in helping your family members safely and securely use Bitcoin.
Fortunately, running your own full node can be a great way to improve your own privacy and security, as well as that of your friends and family. While there is technically no way to "host" someone else's wallet on your node, you can certainly provide them with advice and guidance on how to set up their own wallets and securely connect to your node.
The best way to do this would be to encourage your family members to use a hardware wallet like Trezor or Ledger, which allows them to safely store their Bitcoin offline and only connect to online services like your node when they actually want to make a transaction.
By doing so, your family members can enjoy the benefits of using a well-connected Bitcoin node without having to worry about their funds being at risk. Just be sure to emphasize the importance of good security practices and always keep your own private keys safe and secure!
You can kind-of do this with btcpayserver, maybe lnbits, but its very hard to make an easy unrugable centralised system and its not newb friendly
