there is a case to be made that the Constitution was always intended to be used as the vehicle for the Old World to sabotage and co-opt the New World whom they have always perceived as subhuman mutts temporarily escaped from the plantation.
When Spooner said this, the US federal government was not NEARLY as bad as it is today. Trump wishes he had the kind of federal government that existed in Spooner's day, which was small enough that it COULD be funded by tariffs.
