Because it's the only place that has let me do so, so far.
I post my photography on a feed that is not supported bei 90% the clients. Nobody sees it. But you gotta start somewhere.
I use the gallery, too.
Oh but I mean kind 20 feeds 😅 the kind 1 notes show up everywhere.
Isn't the Amethyst gallery Kind 20?

Not yet. It's a nip I tried to introduce before kind20 existed. The nip basically allows to use an image from a kind 1 and reference the kind 1 in a kind 1183 event.
Kind 20 events are new image types that clients need to support. The media feed in the middle in amethyst shows them and olas shows them.
In the next version of amethyst kind 20 will also be added to the gallery, when posting on olas of via the media feed.
But my gallery won't contain Kind 20?
