Yes, some are loosely based on people I know. Maren(name changed) is a very real person I knew. The crypto bros are generic two-dimensional strawmen at the moment, but my goal is to make them more human and steelman their arguments over the course of the book.
I’m a lot older than Oliver 😂, but yes, his journey to Bitcoin will have a lot of parallels to mine
