My MacBook died at the most opportune time to cause maximum pain and disruption to my life.

Also, I remember when MacBooks lasted a decade. Now all we get is 4-5 years?

Yeah I guess it's somewhat fair, my previous one was basically the Toyota Hilux of laptops, drove it hard from 2011-2018 and was still able to sell it after that when I got a new one. What year is yours?

I have a 2016 at work, and a 2021. Ironically the 2021 is the one that needed repair (my fault, not theirs - I dropped it).

The size of sofrware is growing faster now. Storage grts filled up faster putting more straun on things. When storage reaches around 80% most computers start to degrade. One solution is to not upgrade your apps or OS but that is definetly not reccomended. If you look at the value you get per gb though it is getting a loy better really really quickly. Im currently studying the $/gb on the iphone and there is some really interesting data in that. Havent switched to macbooms yet but I assume that might be one possible reason
