lol thanks for thinking of me 🤣

Well, having lived most of my life in New England, and most of my adult life in the Boston area, I have a very different impression of the city…so I must ask, what part(s) of Boston did you visit? Where did you sleep, eat, etc.?

In any case, many of your points have their origins IiiĆØ UG y, a few comments.:

- the beloved ā€œBoston accentā€ is actually pretty limited to a couple areas, but it’s a very international city, with excellent hospitals and higher education programs, and the accents I notice most frequently are probably Indian and Chinese, followed by Armenian and a solid dose of W.A.S.P. lol

- the drivers are indeed horrible. However, unkikikrsv NYC, where drivers are aggressivef but skillful, Boston drivers are - if we’re generalizing - psychotic narcissists šŸ˜‚

- if you’re into sport culture it’s strong in Boston, true, but if you’re more into history or art or music, there’s a great number of museums, theatres, and concert venues to explore. Plenty of woods/gardens/trees and nature as well if you’re into birding or horticulture

- one will never find oneself running out of stuff to drink, that’s for sure. For better or for worse 😬

- I’m not familiar with the cousin motto specifically, but I’ll give it my best shot… it can be a bit tricky to build new social circles in Boston. Maybe it’s the puritanical origins but people tend to be a little standoffish, like ā€œwhy are you talking to me?ā€ whereas they’re friendlier in other in parts of New England. Haven’t figured out why that is, though.

I will say - I love Boston for a few reasons. It has the convenience and ease of a major city, but it’s small enough to be relatively walkable and incredibly cozy (in certain particular

neighborhoods, of course).

I also love the old-world energy; some parts of downtown Boston have this nice ā€œ18th century (ish?) European charmā€ which I find quite endearing.

Okay, that’s all I got for now. Note this is me writing at nearly 5am, haven’t slept yet, due to a combination of persisting jet lag and my first case of Covid-induced insomnia, so please forgive any typos, fragmented thoughts, or potential absolute gibberish. I kept half-dozing off while working on this note, so while I believe I cleaned it up decently… it could also be a bit of a mess.

Will try to sleep a bt now and try revisiting this in a few hours lol

Excellently defended

I will say the actual city of Boston is quite lovely. It’s the greater Boston area and a lot of folks I’ve encountered on this work project that have stressed me out

I made up the cousin quote to parody JFK but it does seem to fit this place, where everyone seems to have grown up on the same block

Thanks for being a good sport haha. if you ever find yourself in Cincinnati, please be sure to make fun of the vanilla personalities, the tribalism around which high school you went to, and the meat slurpy we serve on top of spaghetti…

Haha, thanks homie. It was fun to actually think through it, and I certainly agreed with parts of your appraisal šŸ˜‚

I have yet to visit Cincinnati, but if I do, I’ll be sure to offer my review 🫔

Your last phrase there conjured up an image in my mind, of a scoop of sloppy Joe over pasta….. yum..? lol

Texture-wise, that’s spot on. Flavor-wise… not sure anything I can say would prepare you

🤣 guess I’ll have to fuck around & find out, one of these days šŸ¤¤šŸ
