Costa rican typical breakfast:

Gallo Pinto

The classic Costa Rican breakfast is called Gallo Pinto. If ordered at a Soda (term for typical restaurant), you will get the gallo pinto, which is a mixture of rice, beans, cilantro, red peppers, onions and a local condiment called Salsa Lizano. You will also get eggs, a piece of caramelized cheese, caramelized plantains, tortillas, a little cup of natilla, which is similar to sour cream, and a coffee or juice. Maybe not the dish for the carnivores, but most others enjoy it.
