Ayn Rand said many impactful things, but one of the most impactful for me (paraphrasing) was that if I'm going to judge the actions or ideas of others (as I should), I must be open to having the same done to me. And I must change course as soon as I realize I'm wrong, if I'm to have self-esteem.

Calling people retarded is a poor mark on my character that needs to end. I can do better than that. I can express my disagreements in healthier ways. I'll do my best to work on this. Please call me out if I slip up and don't correct myself. I'm imperfect.
