Discovered this fruit recently on a local market in #Morocco.

It’s called „Neflé du Japon“, or Loquat in english.

It’s apparently home in cooler hill regions in China and Japan, and has been introduced around the world within subtropical and mild climate regions.

It’s naturally sweet and has a great taste actually. High in Vitamin A, Vitamin B6. nostr:note1mxuwm2uuvw37pgrdwmzpuy9dpqkxdm6vsuhdtftwuf362fay9mrqees5ur

In french we call that des nèfles

I have used a cough syrup that is based on loquat for most of my life. I'm not 100% sure if the fruit or the leaves are used in the commercially available syrup but I know some homemade recipes that use the fruit. Very useful for itchy throat/cough especially mixed in hot water and drunk. It will grow very easily if you save and plant a stone from the fruit and it grows into a very nice leaved small tree.

Thanks for the hint. Amazing 🤩

Will try to make it with hot water 🔥🧡

They grow in Greece too, a little bit sour but not too bad
