The fact that so many influencers who are vocal anti-CBDC immediately complied with twitter identity verification and continue to defend their decision is an incredibly interesting case study on the human condition.

I'm afraid that you are right. People are incredible lazy, and for most people it is - unfortunate - much more convenient to just get verified and, later on, to start using a CBDC than to actually do what many of them would think of as best practice.
I confess to be guilty of this with regard to purchasing btc, exchanges are just so much more convenient than no-kyc services...
