My husband never wears gloves; often no veil (depends on the temperament of the particular hive). I always wear both, but neither of us wear a suit (too hot in our South Alabama humidity). The frames are hard to maneuver with gloves, and once you’re used to being occasionally stung, your fingers become more immune.
