I had lunch with her in the Garden Room at the Savoy in London in November 2001 😂

That’s amazing! Do you remember what you talked about?

She was discussing her book with her publisher. I was with my Dad who’d just been awarded his OBE by the queen. She was on the adjacent table, we got talking about art and the monarchy.

I was surprised to see a nun discussing royalties, I asked her about how that worked.

Sounds like a party! For me she represents a great art lover that seemed to be the norm long ago, perhaps pre-1971.

She was also very wealthy from what I overheard 😂

According to Britannica “Maintaining her vow of poverty, she donated all her earnings to the Carmelite order.”

I don’t wish to shatter your illusions, but she picked up the lunch tab 😂

*except for that one time at lunch…

True 😂
