Serious: My nr. 1 reason why I would consider switching from Android to iPhone is the advanced data protection plan.
Discussion
There are other valid reasons?
Lockdown mode and some on-device privacy features on iOS are better than on Android as well.
Apple's e2e cloud is way better than Google's mostly decryptable cloud. Afaik the only e2e cloud stuff they have are Android backups (which is critical).
I know anon. I'm aware there are a thousand e2e cloud-sync alternatives for Android but none of them can compete with Google's and Apple's UX and I'd like to see more e2e features for the hords of non-tech people who use these devices.
my main problem with graphene is there's no backup. seedvault has been broken for years.
i can backup my data, but even if I get a new phone, migrating takes me at least a week, to setup everything as I want.
with iphone it was "dear phones, go and talk overnight, when I wake up, I want my new phone the same as the old one)
A million times this.
Fortunate to have the choice. Look at the basket case of the UK. Stripping privacy as it continues on its dystopian path.
Lol
I want to make a joke about abbreviating number with โnrโ instead of the pound sign but now realizing that would hashtag something.
Youโre playing chess Iโm playing checkers ๐ ๐
How could you trust "advanced data protection" if its closed source and visible only to a handful of people?
