30 years ago almost to the day, I downloaded Linux over a 9.6k dial up modem and miraculously succeeded in installing a functioning os on my x486.

Then I sat there.

The cursor blinked at me.

I blinked back.

What now?

I’m kind of at the point with nostr, what’s possible and how can I learn more? How can I find interesting people?

Are there resources, how tos etc posted anywhere?

I seem to remover seeing a regular update with resources posted to the feed a couple months ago but I don’t know how to find it and the Damus search function doesn’t do much yet.

Just a noob blinking at the cursor.

Great! Thanks!

No problem😁🤝

I also remember the days of downloading Slackware Linux over a dialup modem, writing it to many floppy disks and hoping that none were corrupted so that it would successfully install on a 486! Nostr does bring back memories of those times.

I have a list of some Nostr projects and resources that you might find useful - https://www.austrich.net/nostr/

I was a Slackware guy back then, too 😉

I even managed to get Xwindow + Netcape running.

X was a bit of a challenge to get running back then, from memory you had to have the X server with the right driver for the card you were using and then find the right combination of sync and refresh parameters to work with the CRT monitors.

Oh the memories…twitch twitch. 🫣
