If voting is a right and ID is required for voting, demanding an ID from government should be met with unquestioned issuance within a reasonable amount of time.
Same for keeping and bearing arms. If it is a right and an ID card is required, the same standards should be applied for issuance.
Same for government approval for church attendance or public speech permits.
If mandatory registration of political views, religion, or firearms becomes a law, it should be fought in courts and ignored.
