I am going to slightly eat crow on this one and say that Obsidian is awesome. Onus is on the user to figure out syncing and I do wish they were fully open-source, but I fully understand people wanting to protect their right to earn a living off something amazing they have built.

The productivity benefits from the open file format and extensibility via plug-ins and templates, combined with good UI is undeniable. nostr:note1x7q9t9k6z79mfmr25mffz9205aeezhqush79pcwky566v92hafwsmlm3ay

I love obsidian

The Daily note feature and templater plug-in are what really sold me. Also being able to just copy paste a vault with all settings is so satisfying

I use Daily + template every working day to checklist my catching up:

[ ] customer emails

[ ] commit to calendar invites

[ ] slack

Big fan of obsidian as well. What route did you end up taking for sync?

iCloud across my iPhone and Mac for personal. Also trialing it at work and just backing up to a Google drive. Need to look at some options like syncthing to make sure I have some non-Apple backups of the files! I don’t know what I’ll do if I move to Android

Gotcha. Yeah I did the same, iCloud works really well for sync. The fact that the format is open makes me less worried about getting trapped. If I needed to go cross-platform the Git sync plugin looks like a reasonable option as well.
