Thinking about ways to use an S9 to melt snow off a sidewalk in my backyard this winter. Ideas?
Discussion
For some reason, a leaf blower comes to mind.
I’m thinking of hooking it up to perforated drainage tubing, so it moves the air down, but lets it out a little along the way.
this might sound stupid but something like a large rubber 'whoopie cushion' esque material that you could blow air in a hole, lay it down on the spot you want melted, and poke a hole in opposite side side so air can get out. as long as hot air flowing and the heat is transferred somewhat through the material...would work 🤷♂️
Leaning towards perforated tubing of some sorts, so kinda like that! Either PVC or corrugated, unsure which yet.
I think the actual sidewalk and driveway melters use water piping within the concrete but I’m guessing re-pouring concrete is not an option?
Nope! I’m more thinking of something I can lay over the sidewalk that the hot air from the miner can blow through (and out?) to melt it over time.
How far roughly will the S9s be from the sidewalk?
Planning on enclosing it in a cooler so it can sit outside at one end of the sidewalk, near a corner of my house and only a foot or two from an exterior outlet. It won't need more than a foot or two of a flexible arm right off the cooler before connecting to the perforated part.
