I get where my brother’s coming from, but sometimes I wonder, without sounding like the cliché “back in my day”, what’s the best way to teach my kids about racism?
I’ll teach them it’s wrong, of course, but I also want them to know how to navigate the world without being overly sensitive or easily shaken.
Because let’s be real, no matter how much we educate, there will always be people who act like jerks. That saying, “You can’t control someone else’s actions, but you can control how you react,” feels more true than ever.
Not everything worth being offended for in my opinion.
