I’ll be honest I was not much into reading this is a new thing for me😅 I just finished 1984 by Orwell, it was good! I wouldn’t mind more books similar to that and probably some good non fiction ones
Of Orwell's, I've also read (and recommend):
- Animal Farm (fiction, superficially a children's story, actually about the Russian Revolution and the dark places it went)
- Homage to Catalonia (nonfiction, Orwell's first hand experiences serving as a volunteer in the Spanish Civil War for what quickly became a dystopian govt)
Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" is also classic dystopian fiction, recommend.
I'd also put in a good word for Robert Heinlein's "If This Goes On". This is the novella that the plot of "The Handmaid's Tale" was later ripped from, the original is better and more complex despite being YA fiction.
