My inclination, although anecdotal, has absolutely been a high percentage of the traffic is bots. Have to sell the illusion of consensus.

Assuming 60% of 𝕏 users were bots, the network would show low adoption compared to Facebook or Instagram.

It is already well below the number of users of these.

Elon is turning 𝕏 into the Everything App, and to do that, he must attract a large number of users and make investments.

It's definitely a Trojan horse. But I don't think the bottling is exclusive to X either. It may be worse there, but it is in the interests of the controllers to have the same bot army everywhere to sway and herd opinions towards their ideological goals.

Turning X into WeChat is an ongoing process. Every drama they manufacture is marketing for them to get truth seekers onto their platform so grok can build a profile around these users and make them easier to manage in the future..
