Elon is hiring back Big Balls! Why is that relevant to Nostr?

People are used the Woke regime where journalists would dig through old tweets to find dumb/racist things you said to use as leverage to get you fired/cancelled etc. Elon and the Trump admin might have just ended that practice by rehiring Big Balls to DOGE.

So how is it relevant to Nostr? The fact that notes live forever has a chilling effect on free speech and leads to self censorship because we have grown up in this culture of cancellation. Permanent notes make the threat of cancellation even worse since someone somewhere has a record of your wrongspeak.

Democrats/Leftists/Wokes have learned nothing from this election and have only doubled down on their desire to cancel Americans. So if they ever get power again, they will use these permanent notes as a record of all your “wrongspeak” against you.

If this remains the status quo, I don’t think people will feel comfortable speaking freely on nostr.
