minimum fee relay of 1 sat/vb needs to be dropped, it doesn't reflect the economics of bitcoin anymore.
I don't want to be forced to pay 25 cents fee on a completely empty mempool if I could've paid just 5 cents.

You are not forced to pay whatever !
You can always choose to NOT transact (combine payments, use LN, etc etc) !
We have a tool that enables humanity a shot at renewed freedom.
Without the usually needed violence or other huge sacrifices.
But instead of cheering people start complaining about the fact that an onchain transaction (with properties that just some 16 years ago where just impossible) that could be a transfer of $ billions in value, costs them $ 25 cents.
Please sit down and think this over ?
then what would stop malicious actors to flood the UTXO set by creating txns with a bunch of outputs for free?
Yes! Fees will trend to 1 sat/1kvb.
Mempool can stay empty. Mining incentives are already built in, just not for 3rd party cash flow chasing miners.
Bitcoin Treasury companies will become Bitcoin mining companies to protect their wealth.
Interesting
Why u no have white noise? ๐คจ
Yes. Ideally, the minimum would be set appropriate to weed out txs with fees so low they would never get mined. But, this is already accomplished by the maximum allowed sizes of individual nodes' mempools. It would seem the only point of a minimum sat/vb fee is so that pleb miners couldn't reasonably mine 0 fee txs even if they wouldn't to. ๐ค

Interesting point... Why not 0 sats indeed?
