on the bright side, doing it to linux and desktop hardware is way way harder to achieve, because without open desktop hardware there is no developers. by definition, programmers MUST run "unauthorized" software.

uncle bob martin, mister Clean Code warned about this in a talk you can find on youtube btw. the cover story will be about liability for damage caused by software. they will include "propagating disinformation" as a damage and wham bam, thankyou, ma'am.
literally it will reach a point where the last roadblock for them is going to be the internet itself.
i doubt they are gonna achieve this before at least 10 years and i think that's gonna be too late. but that feeling of being in a siege. that's real. the enemy, most of all, is the truth about who is behind this.
