I disagreed with your stance on scaling up societies.
Look at the ancient cities throughout the world, including within the USA before colonial times, that held hundreds of thousands of people.
I actually think that society ran into the same situations as money. It realized it was more resilient when decentralized, providing security and freedom via proof of work.
Now we are at the point where we are trying to figure out how to engage with communities that we share very similar values. This seems to be a lot like the meetups and fedimint. This seems to be the answer to the scaling up of community, which might result into large social cities again.
