Yes, it’s the culling. Next expect a leaky vaccine like Marek’s that a) makes commercial growers dependent and b) increases virulence. Natural immunity is the way. I’d rather lose my livestock to a disease that the strong ones will develop immunity to and pass on those good genetics. The current industrialized model is cull all preemptively or vaccinate. Terrible waste and short sighted esp as these meat animals don’t have long lives to begin with.
What’s going on in some British dairies over avian flu is unconscionable. Killing healthy animals over a virus they survive because of fear over human transmission of a disease that is not a threat to the general population. I am suspicious of the ones behind what seems to be a multi-pronged attack against traditional farming.
