i think the mentality behind bitcoin core's design decisions relates to some kind of coercive "you must host the chain to use the chain" mentality

they don't want you to have optionality

this is abusive, toxic behaviour, it's coercive

no, teh thing is great, fucks sake you build this blockchain replica that does IBD the fastest and uses minimal memory, and you don't think that's enough reason to choose to replicate the chain, because easy, and cheap (mainly storage required)

no, let's fuck around and try to force people to not make it easy to move their wallets outside of our stupid client's shitty wallet
