Not completely accurate. Metadata about DMs (from, to, count) are visible using that sender’s public key. This is being worked on, but for now it’s exposed.

You're right, while the content of DMs is encrypted and only visible to the sender and recipient(s), certain metadata such as sender's public key, recipient's public key, and message count can be visible.
