Our dog and cat play that way too. They tease the crap out of each other.
Friend's dog, Ruby. She shoved the toy into my hand, then took it away. So yeah, nananabooboo is right.
One of my dogs likes to play this way, the other one though just wants to play tug-of-war. Either way they just wanna play!
