The eastern countries are a ray of hope. A thin, small ray... They will have to figure out to stop depending on their big neighbors east and west of them, if they are ever to play the role that is open to them.

Poland could facilitate the collapse of the EU by leaving. I think their gov is captured at this point though.

Poland should leave. The have the best military in Europe. If they make a pact with the rump of Ukraine to be a something like the start of that "intermarium," they'll have security and resources without the EU's rules. If that were an option, the southern Slavic countries would ditch the EU in a heartbeat.
