Humans balance lots: 1). independence vs social status and need 'to belong'...; 2). self-interests vs humble co-existence in web of life; 3). personal beliefs (e.g. hopes) vs laws of Nature. Humanities balance is rarely even or stable, nor can it be in a living system.
