That must be my problem because I do the exact opposite with everyone. My philosophy is - "don't get too comfortable with me being around because I promise you I can find something better". All I want is to be paid fairly, and not "quietly hired" to do all this extra shit with zero additional compensation. It has happened at every fucking job I've had because I am efficient and willing to learn.

Yes you have to hide your power level actively. I do exactly what is stipulated in my contract and do not go over it ever unless ordered.
