I know this part from Hymn to Proserpine, because it is in the series Earth: Final Conflict. And it seems to work with the exact same rhyme/tonal pattern:

Laurel is green for a season, and love is sweet for a day;

But love grows bitter with treason, and laurel outlives not May.
