Generally that combination would be prescribed for something like bipolar disorder or schizoaffective disorder (happy to expand on those in other post). Epilim (valproate) is an anti-seizure medicine with very good evidence as a mood stabilizing agent. Aripiprazole is often added, with less evidence, to “boost the mood”.
