Real Madrid's promising young defender, Joan Martínez, has suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury in training. The 16-year-old had impressed coach Carlo Ancelotti and teammates with his performances during the preseason tour. Despite being just 16, Martínez was expected to play a role for the first team this season. However, he will now undergo surgery and is likely to miss almost the entire 2024/25 campaign.
