Rebuilding the leveled Southern California cities under current leaderships is probably going to turn into a WEF smart cities experiment. They are itching to push their initiatives.

Here's some tech, lets for you to build it into your home under the guise of safety, sustainability, inclusivity and of course, net zero carbon.

Our incompetence caused it. Now let us fix it “even better” than before. 🤡

Build back better? 😀

Let's see...

Don't expect it to be the first 15 minute city though. That's for plebs...

The plebs will probably leave the state.

I thought the same about the maui fires. I would be intrested to see whats happening in hawiaii and compare 🤔

Nah, they’re ditching the regulations to speed up redevelopment. Too much money at stake for these locals.

I found it quite interesting that they openly mentioned cutting a lot of "red tape" in order to make it easier for people to rebuild. The fact that they acknowledged this proves that they really do make it difficult for people to do anything there.

I do hope you're right.

So insanely difficult. 5 years average development time with most of that being bureaucratic reviews.

Contractors are foaming at the mouth right now. Hopefully it works, and the red tape stays away after they see the benefits.

I imagine out of state contractors are welcome to licensing as well. Idk how the ones in California alone can keep up with the demand.

Wow. Thinking about it gives me a headache.

I’m sure there will be some that come in to fill demand, but residential is tough to justify traveling due to short term nature of each job. They’d have to land a bunch of projects all at once. It’s gonna be a crunch.

Hue vill live in ze fifteen minute city and hue vill never leave vis dis social score.

I just thank God it didn’t take that Santa Monica job that I was offered 15 years ago. From what I can tell that area is completely engulfed.

Funny part the reason I didn’t take that job is because they were planning to shut down the Santa Monica airport. I figured I couldn’t live in a town with no Airport.

That Airport would’ve provided a solid firewall, preventing one side of the city and the other side of the city from catching but now it’s all condos and apartment buildings .

And the removal of that Airport was just a pure political land grab to enrich associates of the political class .

Spoken like a true aviator 😄 Also one of the reasons why I chose the town where I live. The airport is 10 minutes away from me.

I think Santa Monica was saved and safe. Neighbouring Pacific Palisades and some parts of Malibu did get burned.

You don’t skip a beat eh? 🤓

😄 Just paying attention I guess

I like it. A good balance is key to life 👌
