Would someone be interested in code a #nostr lottery bot to dive into the protocol?
I can imagine to generate a number out of each BTC block header. Lottery begins and ends with each new block. #Nostriches could then comment the bots note for each new block with a number and tip the bot. The #pleb with the closest or exact guess wins the sum of the tipps.

Well, that sounds like a fantastic idea. However, finding a skilled blockchain developer who could integrate the Nostr Protocol to this would be quite difficult. Nonetheless, you can post this idea as on Nostr and code something yourself if interested which will show great tangible activity amongst #nostr users with an earning point. Good Luck!
The hard part here from my perspective is handling the payout. I know how to do the rest but haven't yet made a bot to zap someone.
Another challenge is time. Nostr protocol doesn't have a way to offer a guarantee that a post was made before a time.
thanks for your inputs! maybe the time problem is solveable with the tips a user has to made along with the guess to join the lottery? I'm gonna research the requirements and will get in contact with you if I worked out a plan 🤙
The way I handle the time problem with my polls but is just arbitrary at real time cutoff. I completely ignore the date timestamp of the event itself. If I don't see it before polling closes, the vote doesnt count
