LOT Polish Airlines, TAR Airlines in Mexico, Air Lituanica, and airBaltic were accepting BTC.

Indeed they were. I used it with air baltic in Dec 2013, must have been one of the first :)

But it's trivially easy to pay for flights, any airline in the world, with bitcoin using websites, has been since 2016 at least.

Outside of tech, and outside of El Salvador, very few nontech companies directly accept btc.

Which ones currently support direct payments? I don't know any:/

You mean, which websites for buying plane tickets? Travala works well.

Destinia used to work but stopped some years back. Cheapair maybe still does(?), I forget.
