Peas are emerging ๐Ÿ™

I have had issues with rodents eating the seed while germinating.

I like to sow dill and cilantro on each side of the peas. I will do that soon.

The garlic is looking pretty good in my opinion.

I hated when squirrels would dig up my corn and pea seed.

I have considered putting down wire mesh smaller than their hands until the first true leaves emerge. Do you think this is a good idea?

It might be hard to scale.

It is worth a shot. I have tried netting, spraying the seed with cayenne, covering with bramble canes, mulching with thorny holly leaves. None of it worked. What has been most successful for me is planting them in far apart places from year to year. Or skipping years.

Garlic looks great!

Thanks. Garlic is my favorite crop.

That looks great. I am doing a little growing of my own for the first time. Lettuce, basil, cilantro, and chives from seed. Something ate all the lettuce sprouts clean over couple of nights so had to put up a mesh to hopefully stop from happening again.

Is that what the semicircle things are for?

Duel purpose

I use nets for bugs and rabbits

Greenhouse plastic to ripen peppers

That's smart. I take the mesh off during day, seems ok. Hadn't considered covering for greenhouse effect. That's too next level for this round for me, but maybe soon

How have I not thought to use woven wire as a trellis

๐Ÿคฃ i used to weave string, what a nightmare. It took forever and sometimes failed. I also now grow cucumbers on the ground. They never want to string up for me.

Hi david nice to meet you ๐Ÿ˜‰๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ๐Ÿค

Sounds like youโ€™re really dialing in your garden game! Companion planting with dill and cilantro is a great strategy not only does it help keep pests away, but it also supports the health of your peas. Garlic is always a solid choice as well; it naturally repels insects and can boost your soilโ€™s health. Itโ€™s all about creating that balanced ecosystem in your garden. Keep up the great work!
